TEXT YOUNES EL OUAFIQ
Houma Sweet Houma is a portrait of Pilot, a 26-year-old actor from Marrakech, whose journey is shaped less by arrival than by persistence. Rooted deeply in his neighborhood — his houma — Pilot represents a generation that dreams without shortcuts, carrying place, memory, and belief across borders. This is a story about staying with the dream long enough for it to recognize you.

It explores dreaming as a practice shaped by place, repetition, and time. Set in Marrakech, the story unfolds within a neighborhood where identity is formed through proximity, shared rituals, and memory.
At its center is Pilot, a 26-year-old actor raised in this houma. His relationship to acting is grounded in observation and presence — a long commitment carried without urgency.
The houma operates as both setting and language. Through everyday spaces — a barber’s chair, a worn façade, moments of stillness — the story reflects on how place holds rhythm and teaches endurance.

The narrative briefly opens onto a theater stage in Napoli, marking Pilot’s first professional experience abroad. The shift in geography expands the frame without altering the core. What moves is scale; what remains is origin.

Houma Sweet Houma is a reflection on youth, belonging, and continuity. A story shaped by staying close to where things begin, and by allowing time to do its work.
